Recommended event “Affective Cartographies: Sensing and Mapping Climate Emotions”

A similar workshop (Mapping Climate Feelings at Design Hub Gallery, RMIT University, 2025) led by Tamara Borovica, Linda Knight and Larissa Hjorth

On November 25th, Dr. Tamara Borovica (RMIT University) will lead the workshop “Affective Cartographies: Sensing and Mapping Climate Emotions”, hosted by the Futures + Literacies + Methods Lab.

Dr. Tamara Borovica has designed Affective Cartographies as a practice-led workshop that explores how we can think, feel, and know through the body. Using body mapping as both a visual art and research method, participants are invited to attend to the body as a living archive of affect—one that registers, mediates, and transforms our encounters with the world. Rather than approaching emotion as something to be represented, participants will explore how sensations, gestures, and textures of feeling can guide understanding—how the body itself thinks, remembers, and responds.

The workshop offers a hands-on introduction to embodied research methods relevant to research in social science, performance, art, and media, inviting students to explore the body as an epistemological site: one that generates insights into our affective and relational entanglements.
